Midday Prayer
Details
Welcome to the Midday Prayer (BCP) TCF Small Group. This gathering will meet weekly, and the group will run in two semesters, one before Memorial Day, and the second beginning after Labor Day. These rhythms allow us to pray together consistently while following the natural flow of the work calendar.
This weekly time of prayer is a chance to pause in the middle of our day, re‑center our hearts, and connect with the Almighty.
You are welcome to join virtually or from a conference room, whichever suits your schedule. In addition to our regular weekly prayer, we’ll schedule periodic in‑person lunches for casual, unstructured connection and conversation. And if there’s interest, we can also schedule a Morning Prayer field trip as a special group activity or an after work social (we have done this in the past).
Noonday Prayer is part of the historic Daily Office, a structured and time‑tested rhythm of prayer rooted in the early monastic tradition. The Daily Office provides a guided framework for worship that shapes us over time and helps answer the disciples’ request, “Lord, teach us to pray.”
In the midst of our workday, Noonday Prayer helps us turn our attention back to God. As the psalmist says, “From the rising of the sun to its setting, let the name of the Lord be praised.” Wherever you find yourself, between meetings, settling into lunch, or working remotely, you are welcome to join us. I am also open to scheduling this on a different weekday if the group needs.
Thank you for joining us. I look forward to praying with you, sharing fellowship, and growing together in this ancient practice of midday prayer.
Blessings,
Ben Knoblet https://www.dailyoffice2019.com/office/midday_prayer
