RAIN Date change-Blessing of the Bikes - Daniel's Restaurant & Open Air Bar / Pa

Every year Daniel's Restaurant and Open Air Bar has Father Gerry Bowen (past St. Augustine's Pastor) come to their place and do a blessing of the bikes. Seeing as Daniels is a "biker bar" this was started to bless motorcycles, but in the past a few of us have definitely shown up on our pedal "bikes". Well this year we are planning to mix it up!

General Info:
I talked to both Daniels and Patapsco Bicycles. I'm going to be leading a casual MTB ride from Patapsco Bikes at 9am (dirt church). Patapsco Bikes will be planning a road ride for the same time. Our goal is to get back to the shop by about 1130. Between 1130 and noon we get cleaned up and roll on our bikes over to Daniels at noon (i.e. "Biker Gang" rolling in together LOL). They have bands all day, and Father Gerry blesses all of the bikes in the lot at 1pm. This is a fun event at Daniels with live bands, and of course their food and drink (it is the last open air bar in the state of MD).

Parking: There is no car parking at Daniels this day. Plan to park over by Patapsco Bicycles (lot out front, street, stone lot at the end of main street, etc)

When: Wheels rolling at 9:00 AM, so get to Patapsco bikes early enough to get ready. If you don't want to do the ride, you can meet up with us and roll over a noon with us from the shop.

Where: Patapsco Bicycles and Daniels Restaurant and Open Air Bar

Rides: Planning a 2.5 hour casual ride from Patapsco bikes. The first and last miles are on a low traffic road, but expect 12 to 15 miles of Avalon riding for the MTB ride.

Pace: Casual - Expect 7 mph for the middle back of pack. The front will be faster but will wait at every turn and stop at the top of every large hill.

Weather: The MTB ride will depend on weather / trail conditions. The road ride will probably go if it is not actively raining. If Daniels cancels because of weather I will cancel this ride. If they keep it going and it's raining, we will cancel the rides, but still plan to roll from Ptap bikes at noon.
