Lysterfield PARK
🧭 Trail Description (Step-by-step)
- Start at Mahogany Carpark or Logan Park Track entrance
- Follow signs toward Trig Track / Trig Point Lookout
- The trail begins as a fire access road or formed gravel trail
- Ascend the Trig Track
- This is the steepest section – steady incline for 1.5–2 km
- Surface is gravel/dirt; can be slippery in winter → wear good grip shoes
- Elevation builds quickly—expect heart rate to rise here
- Reach Trig Point Lookout
- You’ll see a small clearing with a concrete trig marker
- Views of Dandenong Ranges, on a clear day even Port Phillip Bay
- Great spot for a short water break and photos
- Descend via Logan Park Track or the loop trail
- The descent is more gradual if you return via Logan Park Track
- Loop finishes back at your original trailhead
📌 Notes:
-
🦘 You’ll likely see kangaroos in the open grass near the base trail
-
☁️ In August, early morning may be misty → consider a windbreaker
-
🧭 Trails are well-marked but bring Google Maps or AllTrails just in case

Good trail runners or hiking boots (steep gravel)
-
Windproof jacket (cold and windy at top)
-
Water bottle (at least 500–750ml)
-
