My Village ATX

Hey, I’m Javan, but most people know me as Vonnie.

About a year ago, I moved to Austin hoping to find genuine friendships and community. Instead, I kept running into the same thing: "We should meet up!" conversations that never turned into real connections. So I decided to stop waiting and build the space I was looking for.

My Village ATX is a community created with Black people in mind, a place where we can show up as our full selves, laugh loud, celebrate our culture, support one another, and build friendships that go beyond social media.

If you've ever felt like it's hard to find your people in Austin, or you're tired of going to events alone and leaving without making a real connection, this is for you.

The vibe? Sometimes it's ratchet. Sometimes it's classy. Sometimes it's a little quirky, but it's always rooted in love, respect, good energy, and community. You'll never have to worry about drama, judgment, violence, or feeling like an outsider.

While we're intentionally creating a space that centers the Black experience and celebrates our culture, anyone who genuinely respects that mission and comes with authenticity is welcome.
We're choosing community over cliques, conversations over scrolling, and real relationships over surface-level networking.

This isn't just another social group. This is your village.
