Become a tourist again: cycling to tulip fields
Hosted by CampFires
Details
Hello friends,
Let’s embrace our inner tourists and enjoy one of the most iconic activities of the season: cycling through the stunning tulip fields.
Route:
This time, we’re heading north for a truly special experience that combines tulips, dunes, and the seaside.
We’ll start our journey from Anna Paulowna and cycle through some of the most beautiful tulip fields in the Netherlands. Along the way, we’ll also reach the coast, so we’ll enjoy not only colorful fields but also dunes and the seaside.
Our adventure begins with a meet-up at Anna Paulowna train station at 10:15. From there, we’ll start cycling and make our first stop in Zanddijk for a short break, coffee and a second breakfast at one of the beach cafés.
After that, we’ll continue towards Callantsoog, where we plan to have lunch in a Mexican restaurant (Mexican fast food — I promise you delicious tacos). Then we’ll continue enjoying the tulip fields, with some mandatory breaks for photo shooting along the way!
The total route will cover approximately 30–40 km, ensuring a relaxed pace with plenty of time to enjoy the scenery.
We’ll finish the route back in Anna Paulowna.
Short itinerary:
10:15 – Meeting at Anna Paulowna train station
10:20 – Start cycling
~11:30 – Coffee & second breakfast in Zanddijk (beach café)
~14:00 – Lunch in Callantsoog (Mexican tacos 🌮)
After lunch Continue cycling through tulip fields + photo stops
~17:30–18:00 – Return to Anna Paulowna and drinks to celebrate this fantastic day
Please note that while we’ll do our best to visit the best fields, we can’t guarantee that every field will be in full bloom.

If you plan to rent an NS bike, it’s recommended to rent one in advance. Alternatively, you’re welcome to bring your own bike. Renting an NS bike for the day costs €4.80, and if you bring your bike on the train, the fee is €8.50.
