Continuous Deployment Applied @MyHeritage

Details

• What we'll do
In this talk Ran Levy will present why and how MyHeritage made the transition to continuous deployment — which is applied across the R&D organization, with ~30 deployments to production every day. We will also cover the actual technical implementation of MyHeritage's CD flow.

With MyHeritage’s accelerated growth, one of the key risk-reduction strategies (highly effective for a website that serves 90 millions users), has been to provide small incremental changes to users while keeping "startup velocity". This approach — continuous deployment — will be the focus of the Meetup, where we will cover the following topics:

• Background: the days before CD and the motivation to switch to CD.

• The transition phase: mindset change and the development and adoption of the necessary supporting tools when switching to CD.

• CD — the future is here: Applying continuous deployment and building the supporting tools: Jenkins, RPMs, MCollective, Canary testing, end-to-end automations and more ....

• Wins — what we have gained and how it changed our day to day lives and future improvements.

Agenda:

• 18:30 - 19:30: Gathering with Food & Drinks.
• 19:30: Starting Please join us, see you!
