Fish Canyon Trail Falls

~ 4.8 Miles RT

~ 800 gain

~ Level 2 Hike - similar to Monrovia Falls Hike

~ 2 - 3 hours

~ 12 hikers maximum - No party-crashers, please!

~ Make sure you are meeting us at the HANDICAP PARKING ZONE. We lost a few members to other groups the last time we did this hike.

This is a lush, green, vegetation-filled piece of real estate in the San Gabriel Mountains with a trail terminating at a three-tiered waterfall. Very popular with weekenders and usually packed with people. Hopefully, by starting early, we will miss them going to the falls, but definitely will be bumping into them on the way back.

Bring good shoes with thick soles, some parts of the trail are composed of sharp rocks. BEWARE: The last section to the falls is STEEP!

An excerpt from the City of Duarte's website:

"Even in the best of conditions, portions of the Duarte Fish Canyon Falls Trail are steep, rocky and narrow with very high cliffs and loose rocks. Ticks and poison oak are currently prevalent. Hiking boots are strongly recommended. Hikers are warned to read and obey all trail signs."

What to bring:

~ Water, hat, sunscreen, poles, etc.

DIRECTIONS:

From Huntington Drive go North on Encanto Parkway until it turns into Fish Canyon Road, continue until you come to a gate entrance to the Vulcan Rock Materials. Quarry is on the left. Enter through the Access Trail Gate and continue into the parking lot. Walk towards the information signage at the trailhead. We will meet at the handicap parking zone.
