What we’re about
Over the past two years, I’ve been navigating the challenges of PTSD and severe social anxiety. These experiences have made social interactions daunting, leading to significant changes in my professional and personal life.
Recognizing the patterns of avoidance and the impact they had on my well-being, I sought ways to confront and understand my fears.
Through research and personal reflection, I learned that our brains associate social interactions/people with fear but gradual exposure to feared situations can help retrain/rewire our brains, training it that these scenarios aren’t inherently dangerous & I’m not supposed be scared- simply it happens because our brain tries to protect us.
This realization inspired me to create My Safe Space🌿 Group—a free judgmental community where individuals facing similar challenges can come together.
Our group focuses on engaging in nature-based activities like yoga, hiking, dancing, play games & more. These activities not only promote physical well-being but also offer therapeutic benefits, helping reduce stress and anxiety levels .
In My Safe Space🌿, we aim to gently confront the very situations that trigger the core of our social anxiety—by openly sharing our struggles, being seen, or facing potential embarrassment, & rejection.
It’s not about fighting anxiety but embracing it, facing our fears with compassion, and finding strength in genuine connections.
Community and shared experiences are key to self-acceptance. If you’re on a similar journey and seeking connection and understanding, I warmly invite you to join us.
More power to you! I’m sending you a big hug! 🫂🌿
