David Berube will present "Migrating Large Databases to utf8mb4 with Online Schema Change".
Many MySQL databases are using the old default utf8 encoding for MySQL, and some are even still using latin1 - but for many installs, the downtime associated with a migration can be difficult or impossible.
This talk will discuss using online schema change tools to quickly and efficiently migrate databases with zero downtime and reduced impact on server performance.
