July 2018 (Classic): The Importance of Being Earnest by Oscar Wilde
“In matters of grave importance, style, not sincerity, is the vital thing.” July's book club pick is Oscar Wilde's classic comedy The Importance of Being Earnest. First performed in 1895, Wilde's cynical tale of romance, mistaken identity, and meddling aunts is a prime example of the witty dialogue and social satire that made him famous. Want to hear the dialogue in action? The 2002 movie starring Reese Witherspoon, Frances O'Connor, Rupert Everett, Colin Firth, and Judi Dench is a great movie adaptation!

What we're about

Mystery Brewing Company's beers are all named after literature or historical references. It seems only fitting that we should host a book club as well. Come enjoy everything from works of classic literature to pop culture phenoms with the help of a PhD in literature, a published author, or any number of wordsmith experts we can drum up (or have on staff). You can discuss, ask questions, or just sit back and listen, and you can do it with a great beer in hand.
