Emain Macha, also known as Navan Fort, is a significant prehistoric and ceremonial site in County Armagh, Northern Ireland, once the provincial capital and mythological seat of the Ulaid kings. The site features a large earthwork mound, under which a large circular Iron Age temple structure was built and ritually burned around 95 BC before being covered with stones and earth. Steeped in mythology, the site is the legendary home of the Red Branch Knights and features prominently in the Ulster Cycle of tales.
The site was home of the famous Red branch and the legendary hero Cu Chullaim
