Empower and Defend: A Self-Defense Workshop (No Experience Needed!)

Details
Essential Strategies for Conflict Avoidance, Protection, and Evasion
This workshop will teach you how to create a “Personal Protection Blueprint”—a personalized strategy to navigate the world safely and
handle unexpected or potentially hostile interactions with strangers. THE GOAL is to develop a mental and physical toolkit that leverages social skills, appearance, and situational awareness to avoid conflict (if possible) and pass through areas unharmed. Participants will gain practical skills and strategies using both verbal and non-verbal techniques, as well as select physical techniques to maintain safety and distance to escape the aggressor(s).
Learning Objectives:
- How to Advocate for Personal Space: Use, intellect, scripts and body language cues to manage interactions and maintain personal space.
- What to do When They Don’t Listen: Use movement, angles, body language, your “verbal shotgun”, and scripts to reset and maintain space.
- How to Maintain Personal Safety at a Contact Distance: Learn to assess and identify pre-fight indicators, demonstrating ideal body positioning, and techniques to help you avoid injury and make an immediate escape.
- How to Respond to Real World Scenarios: What Would You Do?: Practice what you have learned using common interactions, conflict scenarios and curveballs
