Observe Saturn with a telescope during its opposition

On May 23rd, Saturn is going to reach opposition.

So this is Saturn’s special day, its yearly opposition, when it is opposite the sun as seen from Earth. In other words, Saturn is opposite the sun in Earth’s sky. As a consequence, Saturn rises in the east at sunset, climbs highest up for the night at midnight and sets in the west at sunrise. It is visible all night, closest and brightest for this year.

The weather conditions for 23rd May are predicted to be excellent for stargazing:

We won't be able to observe the moon, since May 18th is new moon day and May 25th is first moon day.

If weather permits, we will go to a farm on the 23rd of May, late at night.

Also, it should be noted that for any such meetup where looking at the sky is involved, having to move +- a few days from the set date should always be considered a possibility, since weather is unpredictable.
