What we’re about
Hello and welcome to our amateur writing group!
If you're curious how writing can help in your everyday life, or if you love everything connected to words, and if you would like to try easy but powerful journaling methods in a friendly set-up and with a glass of vermouth (we're in Barcelona, after all!) – this is your group!
My name is Marusha, I'm a writer, book writing coach, journaling mentor, creator of the Naked Words writing program and founder of Barcelona Journaling Festival. I preach the superpower of feel-good writing to everyone. I use journaling for self-therapy and as dynamic meditation. It also works great to boost your creativity and overcome writer's block if you feel stuck or drained.
Feel free to follow my Instagram account for tips and inspiration!
My workshops are an eclectic mix of simple but efficient techniques such as guided journaling, expressive writing, narrative therapy, and personal storytelling. When we meet, I explain how different techniques work and then we scribble away our thoughts, feelings, and observations.
The group's language is English but you can write in your mother tongue, it's not an issue! Whatever makes you feel good and at ease.
Don't worry, you won't need to read to the group what you wrote (unless you really want to). This is not a fiction writing workshop, it's about your deep inner work and opening up by writing it down.
Why journaling is an excellent self-help method:
- Get to know your real feelings through simple but effective journaling tips
- Structure your thoughts, get honest with yourself and give your life a good seasonal clean-up!
- Write about important events of your life even if you're not a writer
- Get rid of writer's block and enjoy writing in a safe, supportive group of fellow amateur writers!
Everyone's welcome!

🌸 Spring Journaling Adventure with Marusha: picnic, forest bathing & journaling with nature
Join me for a soul-nourishing afternoon of journaling, mindful wandering, and possibly some occasional profound revelations (or at least some yummy snacks and epic views).
We'll kick off our adventure with a cozy picnic by the pond at Montjuïc, where we'll spread our blankets and let the gentle breeze inspire our first words. Whether you're a seasoned journal enthusiast or someone whose last diary entry was "Dear Diary..." in middle school – you're absolutely welcome here.
After we've warmed up our writing muscles (and hopefully enjoyed some treats), we'll embark on a spring-inspired conscious walk through the park. No intense hiking and more of a stop-and-smell-the-roses (or whatever happens to be in bloom) kind of stroll. We'll use this time to gather inspiration, practice gratitude, and maybe even find profound meaning in a random butterfly crossing our path (hey, it happens!).
Our journey culminates at a spectacular viewpoint overlooking Barcelona, where we'll settle in for another round of guided writing, enjoying a glorious sunset. With the city spread out before us like a story waiting to be told, we'll dive deeper into themes of new beginnings, growth, and whatever else springs up (pun intended).
What to bring:
- Your journal and favorite pen(s)
- A cozy blanket to sit on
- Snacks and drinks to share. Picnic treats will be provided, but you're always welcome to bring something else – writing is hungry work!
- An open mind and your sense of humorNo pressure, no judgment, just a lovely afternoon of connecting with yourself and fellow humans while surrounded by spring's finest showing. Come as you are – your winter sweatpants stories are safe with us.

🌸 ALL THE WOMEN IN ME 2.0 🌸
A Journaling Workshop for Every Version of YouThis is Edition 2 of the much-loved workshop "All the Women in Me" we held at the beginning of April. If you participated in that one, you'll be happy to continue exploring the theme, now with a focus on family stories. If you are coming for the first time, that's fine, too: this workshop can be enjoyed even if you haven't been to the first one.
Let's be honest – we're all carrying around an entire committee of women inside us. You know them well: the perfectionist who color-codes her calendar, the rebel who wants to dye her hair blue at 40, the inner critic who's somehow channeling your third-grade teacher, and that wild dreamer who still believes she'll learn to juggle while riding a unicycle (hey, no judging!)
In this intimate journaling workshop, we'll finally give all these women a voice. Through guided writing exercises, we'll:
- Meet your inner cast of characters (and maybe discover some surprise guests)
- Explore how these different parts of you have shaped your story
- Learn to embrace your contradictions (yes, you can be both a warrior and someone who cries at cat videos)
- Transform self-judgment into self-acceptance (or at least a friendly eye-roll)
What to bring:
- Your favorite notebook (the one you've been saving for "something special" – this is it!)
- A pen that makes you feel like a writer
- Your sense of humor
- Zero journaling experience required – seriously, even if your last diary entry was "Dear Kitty" in middle school
Who this is for: Women who are curious about their own complexity, tired of trying to fit into one-size-fits-all definitions, and ready to explore their inner world with honesty and a dash of wit.
Details:
- 2-hour workshop
- Small group setting (max 12 participants)
- Guided exercises, free writing, and group sharing (only if you want to – no pressure!)
Come join us for an evening of self-discovery, real talk, and maybe even some surprisingly good laughs. Because getting to know yourself doesn't always have to be so serious.
P.S. Your inner perfectionist wants you to know that it's totally fine to show up in sweatpants. Your inner diva suggests adding a fabulous scarf. We welcome them both.

- ✨ Catch the flea! A Journaling Workshop at the antique marketMuseu del Disseny, Barcelona€25.00
Where old treasures spark new tales
Step into the heart of Barcelona’s most iconic flea market — Els Encants — for a journaling experience that begins with curiosity, color, and unexpected finds.
We'll start with a guided wander through my favorite corners of the market, where time-worn objects whisper stories and forgotten treasures wait to be rediscovered. I'll share with you the rich history and quirky soul of this beloved brocante, a place where past and present mingle in every dusty box and shimmering trinket.
Then it's your turn:
You'll be invited on a creative treasure hunt — not for souvenirs, but for inspiration. You’ll receive a playful writing prompt to guide your imagination: to find an object, image, or detail that calls to you (no spoilers!). It might be a vintage postcard, a chipped figurine, a pair of gloves that seem to remember someone’s touch.
After the hunt, we’ll gather outdoors in a nearby quiet spot — notebooks in hand — and follow the thread from object to memory, fiction, reflection, or dream. We'll write. We'll listen. We'll share stories sparked by objects that once belonged to someone else, and now speak something to you.
No writing experience is needed — just an open heart, a curious eye, and a love for stories hidden in plain sight.ABOUT THE ORGANIZER

- Naked Words: 2-week online journaling programLink visible for attendees
★ Start writing from the heart without being a professional writer ★
I'm so excited to invite you to my signature online writing program crafted for all-level writers and NON-writers. If you love words, journaling, self-reflection, and reading, this is a beautiful opportunity to experience no-pressure writing for pleasure (and gentle self-healing).
If you have been to my offline MeetUps before or just attended Barcelona Journaling Festival, you know what I'm talking about! :)
This online program is just like our warm meetings, but instead of hanging out for 2 hours we will stay together for 2 weeks, in a small, intimate group of fellow amateur writers, and will write much more! I'll be with you at all times, guiding, answering your questions, and reading what you feel like sharing (fret not, it's optional!).
We will have live zoom sessions, to boost your inspiration and help to unleash your writing superpower. And also, to connect with others – this is the best part!
We will be writing for 15 days, every day. I created a course for those of you who are looking for a writing practice that unlocks, inspires, clears the mind, helps to find the answers, gently soothes the soul, and sparks joy.
WHY THIS PROGRAM IS CALLED NAKED WORDS?
In the era of endless doomscrolling and rapid-fire texting, where we create "content" to self-promote, chase likes, make sales, and game the algorithm for visibility, give yourself a gift of slowing down and writing with intention. Let your words flow freely – no need to fit a specific image, be nice or worry about judgment. Just let your words be. Stripped. Unadorned. Raw. True. Naked.

I believe with all my heart that writing is the most powerful tool for self-reflection. If we don't self-reflect, we don't grow. If we don't grow, we don't become what we were meant to be. If we don't become what we were meant to be, we don't live the life we deserve.
Come write with me this summer and gently dance yourself out of winter into the new beautiful season! We start writing on May, 30 and won't stop for two weeks. By the time summer officially starts here in Spain, you'll feel positively different with your creativity pumped and ready for the season, mark my words.
