You s/b @ minimum a strong “B/moderate” level hiker or higher to enjoy this hike. Not suited to anyone with balance/knee/mobility/cardio deficiencies.
Due to the cold/damp weather, just a BRIEF snack break @ Whisky Lake.
Pet-free hike/NO DOGS please. No pit toilet.

REMINDER: be prepared to show the Ten Essentials/First Aid supplies that you carry in your pack.

Picked this hike as forecast calls for sunshine! Will hike loop in clockwise direction on active mtn bike trails, hoping for some nice views along the way and @ Whisky Lake. Expect some route -finding, as there's another new trail...Party Trick and I'd like to go up Raven Too & Raven!

Please read directions for trailhead as cell service is poor in area...unable to receive texts or messages. If you are unsure where TH is, message me before the day of event.
Limited parking @ trailhead, angle park (or carpool if you can).

Driving directions: from 787 Nanaimo Lakes Rd (Morrell Nature Sanctuary entrance) continue driving approx 5.5 km along Nanaimo Lakes Rd to Y-junction with South Forks Rd. Make a safe U-turn and drive back approx 750m. Watch for slight pullout on road with 2 big boulders on your right (entrance to trails).

Expect wet, muddy, slippery conditions with varied and unstable terrain (stones, roots & some blowdown). Hiking shoes/boots with good tread required. Poles may be beneficial.
