Morrell Sanctuary to Westwood Lake L/O loop

A shorter one before the heat of the day...
Approx 8km/200m accumulated elevation gain @ "a notch over" moderate pace. You s/b a strong "B" hiker or higher to enjoy this hike.
Not suited to anyone with balance/knee/mobility/cardio deficiencies.
Pet-free/NO DOGS please. Pit Toilet @ parking lot & Morrell Lake.

Details: Located in south Nanaimo, this gem is a lush, forested park with a lot of life in it. Mostly shaded trails, although the L/O over Westwood Lake will be in full sun.

REMINDER: be prepared to show some of the First Aid supplies that you carry in your pack. See Ten Essentials link below.

Expect dry/slippery conditions (trails may be littered with dry/slippery Arbutus leaves) and unstable terrain (stones, roots & some blowdown). Hiking shoes or boots with good tread required. Poles may be beneficial.
