North Linley Valley Loop

Details
Lets beat the heat, & start 1/2 hour earlier this time. Also, we'll be walking through brush, so long pants recommended.
This walk is similar or the same as Rutherford & Radar Ridges, a ridge climbing walk. ( & now will include 2 sections of reclaimed trail & one section of new Pondside trail). With the experience of great views of north Nanaimo, the North Linley area, & the Salish Sea.
The walk is about 2 1/2 hours return, depending on the route chosen & how long we linger at the view points. There are two long steep sections with loose gravel & rock. One steep section is on a tight trail, some times crossing a wet stream bed. Slippery descending rock sections, if there's precipitation/snow/ice. You need to be able to climb & descend a steep slippery trail. Those with any leg/ knee/cardio deficiencies should avoid this hike. You need to be physically fit.
Half of the elevation is already accomplished at the meetup point of Altavista Dr. & Cascara Dr. But we will still climb 2 steep ridges.
There are no outhouses on this walk. Plenty of parking. No dogs please.
Any significant precipitation or wind forecast, & this event will be rescheduled or rerouted.
