FRIDAY! Mount Benson 1st viewpoint (from Arbot Rd TH)

This hike DOES NOT summit Mount Benson, just hiking to the 1st viewpoint.
A basic "training" hike. Approx 10km/450m accumulated elevation, @ "a notch above" moderate pace til we reach the Mount Benson trail, then pace will be adjusted for steep incline UP!
You s/b @ minimum a strong “B/moderate” level hiker or higher to enjoy this hike. Not suitable for anyone with balance/cardio/knee deficiencies.
Short break @ viewpoint.
Pet-free/NO DOGS please. No Pit Toilet @ TH, but we'll pass by one near the Mount Benson Regional Park/Benson View Rd parking lot.

REMINDER: be prepared to show some of the First Aid supplies that you carry in your pack.

Route includes active mountain bike trails, access road/Outer Bypass and once on Mount Benson trail, it's a steep incline to 1st viewpoint, stop for a short break, then back down to Outer Bypass and return a slightly different route.

Expect dusty, dry & slippery conditions with varied and unstable terrain (stones, roots & navigate over some blowdown). Hiking boots/shoes with good tread required. Poles may be beneficial.
