Details
Description; Intermediate hike & pace. Starting from Burma Rd. (Plenty of parking, no outhouse), & taking about 2 1/2, hours. With about 200 m of accumulated elevation gain. We'll be climbing & descending some steep ridges. Poles can help.
Traveling in a counter clockwise circle direction from Burma Rd. along the newly constructed boardwalk on the south side of Cottle Lake. Then up a ridge through forested trails & along some rock bluffs, (nick named "The Knuckles") before arriving at the Pyramid/Cairn Ridge with a view of Departure Bay to the SE (Weather permitting we'll linger for a break at Pyramid Ridge).
We'll return to parking through the lower Linley Valley, labyrinth of trails.
Plenty of high stepping over slippery rocks roots & exposed rock & trees. Steep & slippery sections coming off of the rock bluffs we'll descend.
Those with any leg joint, balance, or cardio deficiencies should avoid this hike. You need to be physically fit & able to climb & descend steep ridges. Bring good hiking footwear & water. See you there.
