Hemer Park via Morden Colliery Regional Trail (with option B)

It's unpredictable weather time of the year---as of now, Tuesday morning looks decent. Event will still proceed if just showers, but will be cancelled if very rainy/windy. Check this page by 7am day of event for updates.
Approx 11.5km/<200m elevation gain at "a notch above" moderate pace. You s/b @ minimum a strong “B/moderate” level hiker or higher to enjoy this hike. Not suitable for anyone with balance/cardio/knee deficiencies.
Brief break @ viewing platform @ marsh.
Pet free/NO DOGS please. Pit toilet in Hemer Provincial Park (approx 2km from COCO Cafe parking trailhead).

We'll take the Morden Colliery Regional Trail (old rail line) thru urban/rural area which then connects with Hemer Provincial Park. Loop on trails in the Park, passing by marsh, Holden Lake, along small creek, and then return. Hope to spot some swans that over-winter there.
OPTION B: Short on time or just want to join for a 6.5km loop? Meet 9:30ish @ the end of Hemer Rd/Hemer Provincial Park entrance and we'll pick you up as we swing by the parking lot. You s/b back @ your vehicles by 11 while the rest of group continues on.

Expect puddles/wet/muddy/slippery and soggy conditions with varied and unstable terrain (stones, roots & some blowdown). Hiking boots/shoes with good tread required.
