There's a new start point. Turn left/up Harwood Dr. & it continues as "The Old Logging Rd" up the hill. This is just past the intersection of Harwood Dr & Broad Ridge Plc. Park on unpaved area towards the steel gate on the right hand uphill side, at Copley Ridge Rd. The goggle map is not yet fully up to date, But you can't go any further anyway. So drive to the end, & park near the steel gate. (This area is currently under construction) I'll be there. (Expand the google map on this page)
This is a 2 Copley Ridges lookout climb, across from Lantzville & facing Nanaimo. Unsurpassed views of Nanaimo, on a sunny day.
Plenty of gravel road walking, with the first part long & steep, (30 minutes).
Really good views all around. But the climbs & descents are steep, tiring, & will be slippery if there's precip.
Bring good hiking boots or hiking shoes (you need this), weather permitting we'll linger at view points. Approximately 2 hours, depending on weather & route.
Those with any mobility or cardio deficiencies should avoid this event. You need to be physically fit for these climbs. No dogs.
Any significant rain, wind, forecast or observed = a rescheduled or rerouted event. No dogs.
