Port Alberni Lookout

Please note parking is just beside Coombs Candy Store do not park in Candy store parking lot.

This trail is well worth the grind to get to a spectacular view point. We will follow a series of trails with a mixture of well groomed, steep, rocky and root covered trails on the way up. The way down will be old road and some forest trails…. The distance will be approx 6k and we will plan for 2.5 hrs including a short stop at the top to enjoy the view :). Please note the lookout is covered in small bits of broken glass so no dogs.. You should be a strong “B” level hiker to enjoy this hike. Hiking poles encouraged :)

Please show up at trailhead with adequate footwear, water, 10 essentials as well as a tracking device to map the trail. This will help you return to your vehicle should you not be able to complete the hike. Although I give times, elevation and distance these are not always completely accurate.
