Free adult novice chess lessons via Zoom

Details
Starting August 21, 2023, we will meet only on Mondays. I have not been able to eliminate the Tuesday meetings from the Meetup schedule. Fortunately, chess is easier than figuring out how to manage Meetup meetings. Sorry for the confusion.
This is part of a series of chess lessons for adult beginners and novices. When a rank beginner joins the group, I offer a free private lesson via Zoom to cover the basic rules, piece movements, opening principles, and middle-game tactics. After a quick orientation, the new member joins our free weekly group Zoom meetings in which we reinforce and practice the opening principles and middle-game tactics as well as occasional end-game ideas. We begin each lesson by discussing one or more games--either my own games, class member games, or occasionally master games. We discuss how the games illustrate the points covered in our lessons. Then we usually play a game among ourselves, with the class members taking turns making moves which the group comments on. From time to time, I invite a guest speaker to describe a specific chess opening for the group. I welcome class members to send me the games they have played on chess.com or lichess.org, and I provide them feedback. The goal of the lessons is to give members a basic understanding of chess and to improve their skill level.

Every week on Monday
