Meetup Organizers Support Group

If you are a meetup organizer, you clearly care about getting out there in real life and bringing people together - and the world needs more of your energy.

However, organizing events can be hard. A restaurant may say they can easily split the bill 18 ways when you make the reservation, but when it’s time to pay you suddenly have to put it all on your card. People who are on the waitlist just show up to the event anyway, even though they clearly aren’t supposed to (ditto for people who didn’t R.S.V.P. at all). Sometimes, people R.S.V.P. even though they are banned by the venue itself. Or maybe some lady randomly regurgitates her food in the middle of a meal. And the cherry on top, when someone leaves a bad review because they didn’t read the description, went to the wrong place, and somehow thinks this is your fault.

We here to help.

This is a meetup group by organizers, for organizers. We will meet to discuss ways to deal with
problematic attendees, venue issues, or just as a way to vent and have a laugh over our craziest stories from hosting meetups. Whether you are just starting out and looking for advice, are a seasoned veteran ready to share some war stories, or anything in between, come join us so we can support each other.
