Walk beside the Ocean

A great way to start the weekend 😊
Join us for a walk beside the Ocean on Saturday morning.

We will meet at 8.45 am beside the Coffee Bus close to the Westshore Surf Life Saving Club on Ferguson Ave.
We'll walk along on the footpath to the Whakariri Ave Reserve.
The walk has some interesting stops sharing the significance of this area to the early settlers with its natural resources and shipping. There was a freezing works at the point which was demolished as a result of the 1931 Earthquake.
The point is also home to some Korora, tiny blue penguins, who nest in the rocks.

We will return along the beachfront to the Coffee Bus to share a great coffee together.

Bring comfortable footwear for walking and a hat and sunglasses too, or your jacket, as we will walk in all weathers.

We will meet at parking area near to the Coffee Bus on the waterfront near to the Westshore Surf Life Saving Club and walk from there.
