Join us to explore Mohi Bush reserve. This reserve, maintained by the Department of Conservation, was one of the first in New Zealand to use bait stations for possum control, and the beautiful thriving forest shows the results. This is one of the few places in Hawke's Bay outside forest parks, where you can find tiny rifleman, New Zealand's smallest bird, see if you can spot it!
We will walk for approximately one hour on a reasonably flat and easy track through rich undergrowth of seedlings and ferns beneath podocarps such as miro and matai.
Mohi Bush is located along a fully sealed road. To access the carpark go through over cattle stop entrance. The carpark is on grass area in front of shelter. No dogs allowed.

Agenda: We will meet at 9am at the shelter and then start our walk. Afterward we will drive for 10 min to enjoy a coffee or some delicious food at the Waimarama Store. After the event you might like to take the opportunity explore the beach, have a swim and drive back the other way enjoying a different scenery.

Once you RSVP I will be in touch on meetup messages closer to the event for updated details.
