Dangerous Philosophers: Zizek, Lacan, Kristeva

Is “loving thy neighbor” a call to love, or an incitement to do violence?

Consider this Slovene joke as presented by Slavoj Zizek: A peasant is told by a good witch: “I will do to you whatever you want, but I warn you, I will do it to your neighbor twice!” The peasant thinks fast, then smiles a cunning smile and tells her: “Take one of my eyes!”

Is Sade the logical conclusion of Kant, or a terrifying model of society in which hierarchy is directly legitimized in natural properties? Julia Kristeva, Jacques Lacan, and Slavoj Zizek have all contributed chapters titled Kant Avec Sade, where they ask this question, and have been called dangerous for doing so.
