Application security is a hot topic right now. It’s gaining more traction in organizations which puts developers at risk of doing what they do best. This presentation will provide fun insights into application security and what a good program looks like. We’ll review the title question, “What is Application Security?” We’ll look at what a good program looks like. Finally, this presentation will provide resources for learning more about security.

Speaker: Timothy De Block is the Application Security Practice Lead at GuidePoint Security. Previously he’s worked in local government and the healthcare space where he’s been building application security programs for the past 10 years. He moved to Nashville in 2016 and has participated at several security and developer conferences. He’s spoken locally at BSides Nashville and Nodevember, as well as volunteered at Music City Code. He also helps co-organize the local user group ColaSec, based in Columbia, SC.

The Nashville .NET User Group meets every second Thursday of the month.
