A Practical Introduction to Game AI

While AI systems have recently taken the world by storm and become part of household vocabulary, AI has been used in games for much longer. In this talk, Dr. Caleb Vatral will give a practical introduction to how classical AI systems can be used to create and enhance in-game mechanics (NPCs, pathfinding, procedural generation, etc.) through interactive examples. The techniques discussed will work across all game engines and no coding experience is required to participate. After attending this session, you will have familiarity with some of the common vocabulary and techniques for game AI and take away some ideas for how to use these techniques to enhance your own projects.
