We see and we respond, and the story tells itself to us. We can also choose to reverse this process and begin with a story we’d like to tell and then create with intention.

This month we will look at what we can do when we use the camera as a way to tell a story. Graphic-design teacher and photographer Mark Illingworth will share images and the stories behind them in his series “Extraordinary Among the Ordinary.” These beautiful black-and-white portraits are of ordinary people who have behaved, made choices, and had experiences that are unique.

You are invited to join the presentation. Share photographs that resulted from a decision to tell a story rather than a response to what was already there. Send two or three examples (lo-res) of your intentional photography to cguidice@cmga.com by Thursday, February 7th so that they can be discussed after Mark’s presentation. Your images will be used to create and publish a Web Gallery and/or a Slideshow using Lightroom. The result will be posted on our meetup site.
