This group is for people who are interested in hiking and walking outdoors around Nashville, without feeling intimidated by steep climbs or grueling paces. Hikes will generally be 2-4 miles and take 1-2 hours, at a general pace of 2 mph. Stopping for pictures and to enjoy nature is highly encouraged! Dogs are welcome too when the selected trail permits them.
Join the Tennessee hiking group on our urban hike through downtown Nashville. I would rate this as moderate (fit beginners welcome). This is 5 miles with a couple of inclines as we go up the capitol steps and bridges over the river. We will park at the free parking lot between the Tennessee state museum and the Nashville farmer’s market. Walk by bicentennial capitol mall state park, capitol grounds, printer’s alley, Broadway. Light colored or reflective outer garment recommended as it will get dark during the walk.
