Picnic and Free Kayaking Day!

Have you ever wanted to do kayaking for free without going too far away from the Nashville area? Well, this is an excellent day to do it.

The kayaks and canoes are provided for free, courtesy of the event sponsors (City of Murfreesboro and Town of Smyrna). No registration with sponsors required. Staff will be available to teach you about boat safety.

There are picnic tables and grills in the area. Here's the plan:

1. Do some kayaking for about one - two hours

2. Have lunch at 12 PM at the picnic tables (bring blankets with you just in case the picnic tables are taken)

I encourage everyone to bring some food to share with everyone else. You can buy it from the store or make it yourself. If you got mad grilling skills, it would be awesome to cook some hot dogs or burgers for anyone to enjoy.

Let's have fun together. There's parking at the boat ramp. The kayaks will be at the Jefferson Springs Trailhead. I'll mark our picnic table by placing a green alien on it.
