I just watched a film (on Prime, also on Apple TV) called **The Trip We Took with Dad (**Die Reise mit Vater) in German with English subtitles. Based on a true story of a Romanian family who travels by car to East Germany in 1968 and gets swept up into the political mess of that year. Very good film- and funny.
