We're thrilled to have you join us in our exciting community of trivia buffs, board game enthusiasts, bar crawl adventurers, live music fans, karaoke stars, outdoor adventurers, and festival-goers. Whether you're here to challenge your knowledge, make new friends over a board game, explore the best bars in town, hike all the best trails, or dance the night away at a concert or festival, there's something for everyone. Welcome to the Nashville Nerd Herd!
We are an inclusive group and aim to foster a positive environment to foster friendship for all. The majority of events will be free and there are no dues to be a member. Events with a fee due to equipment/venue costs (such as kayak rental, for example) will be indicated as such.
Attendance Policy
We appreciate your interest in our events and want everyone to have the opportunity to participate. To ensure a great experience for all, we have established the following attendance policy:
- Attending without RSVP: Meetup has an established RSVP system that includes Going, Not Going, and Waitlist. For safety reasons as well as to avoid overcrowding, please ensure that you are only attending events where you are marked as "Going." Attendance without an appropriate RSVP may be cause for removal from the group.
- No Shows: If you miss three events without prior notice, you may be removed from the group.
- Same-Day Cancellations: Canceling on the day of the event without notifying the group will be considered a no-show. Please comment on the event page or let an organizer know if you cannot make it.
- Advance Notice: If you think you won’t be able to attend, please take the time to edit your RSVP the day before the event. This helps us make room for others who are eager to join.

Big Fish, The Musical | The Keeton Theater
The Larry Keeton Theatre, 108 Donelson Pike, Nashville, TN, USJoin the Nashville Nerd Herd for a night of musical theater hosted at the third most highest attended theater in Nashville, The Keeton Theater! The Keeton is located in the Fifty Forward Community Center and the show price will include dinner and attendees are encouraged to BYO wine!
BIG FISH, THE MUSICAL
Based on the celebrated novel by Daniel Wallace, Big Fish tells the story of Edward Bloom, a traveling salesman who lives life to its fullest…and then some! Music and Lyrics by Andrew Lippa (The Addams Family and You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown), and Book by John August (screenwriter of Big Fish, Corpse Bride, and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory – to name a few.)- COST: $42 each, plus tax (includes dinner & the show) and seats are assigned and tables do book up, so please book early - we are seated at TABLE 9! https://www.thekeeton.org/
- PARKING: There is plenty of free parking in the parking lot of the Fifty Forward Community Center (The Keeton theater is located inside this building)
- FOOD: The ticket price includes a set dinner menu of:
- salad, boneless porkchop (salmon substitute available for additional fee), broccoli cheese & rice casserole, a roll, and carrot cake
- ALCOHOL: The Keeton does not serve alcohol, however - their website states that attendees are allowed to BYO wine to enjoy with their meals

Galentine's Self Defense Class | Nashville MMA
Nashville MMA, 1504 Elm Hill Pike, Nashville, TN, USHey Nerdy Ladies - join the Nashville Nerd Herd for a FREE 2 hour Women's Self Defense Seminar designed to build confidence, awareness, and real-world skills! Our friend and fellow Nerd, Jennifer will be teaching some of this seminar - we are so excited!

Also, be sure to wear something you feel comfortable moving in like yoga pants, sports bra, t- shirts, etc. Socks and shoes don't matter because you will be barefoot on the gym floor. The gym had lots of snacks last year but be sure to bring water to stay hydrated!
This is the 4th annual Galentine's event where you will learn practical techniques, including situational awareness, grip breaks, fundamental grappling, and essential striking techniques. This hands-on course is beginner-friendly. No experience needed! This seminar is designed to be an introduction to self-defense and martial arts training. We strongly believe you need more than a few hours to prepare for the rough world but let us build your confidence and introduce you to some foundational techniques that have been proven to pack some heat!
