Details
http://photos4.meetupstatic.com/photos/event/6/9/1/6/event_62366902.jpeg(Tweed run is moved up to 1:00 PM because of the Titans home game at 3:05 that day.)
The first Tweed Run was in London in January 2009 . Since then, they have been held all over the world, from Tokyo to Austin to Freemantle. The run is a leisurely ride - more like a parade really - on city streets, celebrating the old tyme traditions of cycling, with classic attire and vintage machines encouraged. (Encouraged, but not required). (Google London or Tokyo runs for some cool pics.)
We will meet at the Parthenon, and grab some innocent bystanders for the first part of our event - judging the awards! They will award certificates for best gents and ladies vintage outfit, best hat, best vintage machine, best mustache (gents only on that one) and best shoes (ladies only on that one).
After judging and pictures, we will ride a squiggly loop around the park, out to 19th Ave., and back to the Parthenon via Elliston Place. Total distance will be roughly 6 miles. Event will be completed by about 2:30PM, so you can go watch the game, enjoy a pint of best at a nearby pub -http://photos3.meetupstatic.com/photos/event/6/b/3/c/event_62367452.jpeg or both!!!
