I love the preview for this delightful, laid-back documentary (I think? I hope!) during my recent Belcourt visits. Especially the part where she reassures us she won't be offended if we go see something else. Nice try, Hlynur. Not falling for that one!

Dir. Hlynur Pálmason | Iceland (In Icelandic with English subtitles) | 2026 | 109 min. | NR | DCP

An artist and a fisherman live with their three children and charismatic sheepdog in the quiet grandeur of the Icelandic countryside. As the fractures in their marriage come to the surface, the couple try to hold onto a life of deep and lingering devotion. Filmmaker Hlynur Pálmason (GODLAND) brings surprising humor and emotional weight to gorgeous, intimate and brilliantly expansive scenes from a marriage, amidst the majestic backdrop of the changing seasons.

If folks are up for it, we can chat about the movie afterwards over a bite nearby.
