To Alum Gap, via the Big Creek Rim Or the Big Creek Gulf

We will be heading to Alum Gap in Savage Gulf. This will allow people to choose their own mileage via the Stone Door/Big Creek Gulf, or the Laurel trail... Shortest route is approximately 2.9 miles, One way.
We will plan on meeting at rangers station at 10:00 am CENTRAL time. There is not water at the site but within easy walking distance.
I have the reserved two campsites at Alum Gap for a total of 8 adults.
Your hike in options are (this is from the parking lot to the campsite. You will need to reverse the mileage for the hike out Sunday):
2.9 Laurel Trail (L 2.9)
4.1 Big Creek Rim (SD 0.9 to BCR 3.2) - I will take this one
5.7 For the longest route - Go Stone Door to Big Creek Gulf and add a spur trail to Ranger Falls (SD 0.9 to BCG 4.0 + RF 0.8)
For those wanting to setup camp and explore the area you can hike out to Greeter Falls (maybe a mile one way) or down to Ranger Falls (maybe 2 miles one way).
Water will probably be a half mile from the camp site. I will have to call rhe week of and make sure the water is not low.

If you do wish to car pool with someone please post in the comments with what area you live in or wish to meet. There is plenty parking in the overnight parking lot.

To ensure the bear survival and your safety, overnight campers should hang all food and garbage.
