Memorial Day Fun: Overnight/Splash at Greeter Falls!

Beginners welcome! Day hikers welcome on Monday!
Let's explore Savage Gulf on Sunday, 5/26 with an easy hike to Alum Gap campsite via the Big Creek Rim Trail (3.2 mi.).
*If you are looking for a more challenging hike, take the Big Creek Gulf Trail (4 mi.) and meet us at camp.*
We will meet at the Stone Door Ranger Station at 11 AM CT and park our cars in the overnight lot.

Monday, 5/27 MEMORIAL DAY options (Let's hope for some sun!!):
1. Hike back your vehicle at Stone Door using BCR, BCG or Laurel Trail (2.9 mi)
2. Hike over to Greeter Falls and hang out at the waterfall (1.5 mi from camp to Falls)
3. Day hikers: Park at Greeter Falls Rd and hang out at the waterfall (<1 mi)

Note: If you plan to camp overnight and want to hang out at the falls for a while, keep in mind you will need to hike back to your car by sunset Monday night! (quickest route back is 4.5 mi using the Laurel Trail)

There's a stream and a privy at the campsite. There will be a $6.00 per person cost to help cover the campsite reservation fees.

This event is suitable for backpackers of all skill levels. However, this will be a "go at your own pace" hike, so come prepared with a map, an understanding of the difficulty involved, and the ability to navigate yourself to the campsite (very easy to follow trail). If I haven't hiked with you previously, please send me a Meetup message when you join the waitlist for this trip.
If I don't receive your message when you sign up, your spot will go to the next person on the wait list.
