2 night Conasauga River trail

Details
Beautiful and wild trail in the Cohutta Wilderness! Be warned, the trail is basically unmaintained, there is deadfall, brush, and no trail markers. The river crossings are up to waist deep on slippery rocks usually with strong current. That being said, it's a lot of fun, remote, and little used trail. No worries about getting lost because it just follows the river.
The plan Friday is to get a relatively early start (meeting at 10:30 Central 11:30 Eastern, it is in eastern time zone) and hike as far as everyone wants and then find a spot to camp, probably about a dozen river crossings. Saturday do whatever you want: hike farther down the trail, fish for trout, swim, read a book, whatever. Sunday pack up camp and head back out.
No children or dogs unless they are excellent swimmers. This is black bear country so plan appropriate food storage. You most likely are going to take an unplanned swim, so everything important in your pack should be in dry bags. Pack as small and lightweight as you can, you won't regret it. Hiking poles for stability in the crossings are useful.
I'm arbitrarily limiting the group size to six. This is NOT a go at your own pace, we will all stick together. However as always your safety is your own responsibility, the meetup group and myself are not liable.
Hope to see you out there!
