Savage Gulf: Meadow Creek Overnight
On this fairly easy hike, let’s check out the newest Savage Gulf Campsite; Meadow Creek Camp! Being early October, temps will hopefully be cooler so keep an eye on the weather and pack appropriately.
5.2 miles from trailhead to campsite. Minimal elevation gain/loss.
DAY 1: Saturday 10/4
Meet at Savage Gulf EAST parking lot at 11 AM CENTRAL Time. We will be staying at the Meadow Creek Group Campsite. We will be on the north plateau with several connecting trails to get to our destination so please familiarize yourself/bring a map. Once we pass the “dinky line campsite” its about another 1.7 miles to get to Meadow Creek Camp where we will spend the night.
DAY 2: Sunday 10/5
Hike back out to the parking lot along the same route. There are some options with minimal additional mileage for those looking for variety.
Some Notes:
This is a go at your own pace hike so familiarize yourself with the trails and have a map handy. There is a seasonal stream nearby. Water may not be available during dry conditions. In my experience cell service is non existent at the trailhead so please be prepared.
