Mt. Everest is the highest mountain on Earth, at over 29,000 ft. Thousands of people have summited it, and hundreds more have died trying. At roughly 17,000 ft, base camp is where most climbers spend time acclimating for the final push to the summit of Everest. Climbing to base camp is not for the meek, is an exciting and challenging adventure, and is one that our own Holly Avery completed recently. Come join us as Holly shares her experience on Everest with us.

Holly has been a member and organizer for Nashville Backpacker Meetup since 2022. She is also an avid climber, adventurer, and seasoned traveler, having visited some of the most interesting places in the world. She also happens to be an alumnus of the not-quite-world-famous Intro to Backpacking class hosted by this group. Join us as Holly takes us on her adventure to one of the most remote corners of the Earth.
