Regular Monthly REI Meeting: Rob Connor on Winter Backpacking
Details
Winter is coming! February's presenter will be Rob Connor, a 3 season backpacker: Fall, Spring, and WINTER. Learn tricks for staying warm and dry in the cold, Rob will do his ever popular show and tell including sleeping bags, overshoes, snowshoes, layering, keeping things from freezing, and the "penguin dance." Rob has backpacked down to -15 degrees in 4 feet of snow and has learned a few things along the way. Come learn from his rookie mistakes including the "Nutella incident" and the "case of the frozen tuna packet." If you're interested in enjoying one of the most rewarding times of the year for camping, this presentation will be a great start. Whether you've seen it before (either live or on Zoom) or not, it's always entertaining and informative, so you don't want to miss it!
Nashville Backpacker Meetup meets the first Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in the Brentwood REI community room. Organizers and guest speakers will present on a variety of backpacking and outdoor related topics. These meetings are free and open to the public. This page will be updated with the specific topic and presenter a few weeks prior to the event. Attendees are encouraged to interact with questions, thoughts, and their own personal experiences on the topic. If you have a something specific you'd like to see a presentation on, let us know!
