The fee for this trip is $4 per person. You will only be refunded if you cancel if someone else takes your place. Please send me your contact info when signing up if we have not met or you will be placed on the waitlist.
The Fiery Gizzard is located in the South Cumberland Recreation Area and is considered to be one of the most scenic hikes in the region.
There will be 2 options for Saturday:
Option 1: Easy beginner hike: Meet at the Foster Falls trailhead at 11:00 am Saturday and hike 2.5 fairly flat miles to the Small Wilds campsite. Hike out the same route on Sunday. This is a short, easy hike, but you will enjoy beautiful Foster Falls and numerous vistas overlooking the gorge.
Option 2: Difficult advanced hike: Meet at the Foster Falls trailhead at 9:00 am central Saturday morning, leave some cars and shuttle to the Grundy Forest trailhead. Hike approx. 10 miles to the Small Wild campsite and meetup with the rest of the group. We'll pick up the cars at the Grundy Forest trailhead on the drive out Sunday.
When you sign up for this trip, let me know which hike option you plan on doing. This will be a "go at your own pace" hike, so come prepared with a map and the ability to navigate yourself on the trail.

If we don't receive your contact info, your spot will go to the next person on the waitlist. Please RSVP with integrity....canceling at the last minute keeps someone else from attending.
