What we’re about

Middle Tennessee definitely has it's share of talented artists of all performing arts that have the ability to make it big. If you attend any open mic or a showcase at even the smallest venue you'll find that out quickly. These artists put a lot of hard work into their craft and they deserve all of the spotlight that they can get because of that.

The idea of this group comes from the influence of my own experiences. That being having a hobby, enjoying what you do, but it's easy to get discouraged because everyone in this town wants to be signed by a record label and make it big. You can't even join a church band because they're all trying to make it big too. It's not even fun for you anymore; it's less about fun and more about networking, practice, and competition for a slot at even the smallest venue.

This is a bit grass roots. I don't know the first thing about organizing/producing performance events (although I'm willing to!). I'm just a failed performer with a full time job/life who used to have a hobby that I was decent at, but what I used to find enjoyable has pretty much been ruined by the "make it big" culture that everyone seems to have. Maybe...just maybe...there are others like me, and we could form a grass roots effort to find ways to keep doing what we enjoy doing and actually have fun with it.
