Open Mic Talent Show interest

If I produced some sort of "open mic talent show" for lack of a better way of putting it, would anyone be interested in performing in it? This doesn't have to relate to music exclusively; if you're into poetry reading or clean-ish comedy, etc, the more variety the better. You don't even have to be good.

Note: If you're interested in this but the time/date doesn't work for you, please at least leave a comment. The next step into making this a real thing is to coordinate with bars/coffee shops/whatever else will have us. It's easier on my end to sell this idea to a potential venue and show them that we have X amount of people interested in this.
