**RSVP ONLY - *Certain injuries & health issues may be contraindicated - Please contact me if you have a concern ***
Start your morning with traditional yogic breathwork with the added benefits of sunshine, fresh air and grounding. It is ideal to practice pranayama outside.
Pranayama is distinct from modern breathwork. It is an important component & taught in context to the process of yoga. Designed to harness prana (life force energy), purify & balance the nadis (channels) & awaken subtle energy for physical, mental, and spiritual development. Not limited to just well-being. Not a quick fix or forceful temporary cathartic experiences, but taught as a safe & gradual process requiring discipline & consistency.
Release toxins, clear and align the energy channels, strengthen the lungs, massage, tone & nourish internal organs, strengthen agni & digestion, oxygenate and improve blood flow, strengthen immunity & clear the mind. Implement various techniques to purify, energize, focus & calm the mind & nervous system & harness the vital life force energy - with kumbhaka & bandha (breath holds and internal locks). Known to increase neuroplasticity, nitric oxide, and erase old mental and emotional patterns. Traditionally, pranayama is the doorway to access higher states of consciousness.
Throughout the ongoing class different practices will be presented. Learn Cleansing kriyas, Himalayan Pranayama including including Ujjayi Variations, Heating & Cooling Breaths, Solar, Lunar & Soli-Lunar Nadi Shuddhi practices, Samantraka Pranayama, Mudra, Pratyahara, Subtle & Contemplative Practices. Includes Pranava techniques for contemplation and merging with the vibration and sound of Om and Nada - internal sound current.
Kara is a long time practitioner & teacher- trained extensively with Himalayan yoga adepts in advanced pranayama & mudra using the breath as the guide for transformation and self-empowerment. With deep knowledge of pranayama, she safely guides practitioners progressively.
Please practice on an empty stomach. Please bring a mat or blanket and a cushion or folded blanket to sit on. Please wear layers.
