Drum Building Workshop

Details
Native American-style Drum Building workshop led by Grandfather Rick McBride. If you have interest in things Native American, but don't have access to the teachings, participating in drum circles is an excellent way to get acquainted not only with an aspect of the culture, but with others on a similar path. Your journey can begin with building your own "sacred" drum for use in ceremony.
I've been building hand drums for 25+ years and have helped many people create their own sacred. I believe there is no better reason to build a drum than for use in ceremony. As you create your drum, I talk about when and how to use it, drum etiquette and technique, styles and songs, and waking your drum up to a ceremonial life.
DEPOSIT FOR MATERIALS MUST BE PAID BY SUNDAY MAY 18TH .
Octagonal drum investment is $200 ($140 for materials deposit, $60 tuition + shop fee payable at class). Round drum investment is $230 ($170 for materials deposit, $60 tuition + shop fee payable at class)
Meet Up can only show 1 price. Please note prices are different for round & octagonal drums. Sign up on this page. Your registration is confirmed on receipt of your deposit. Payment methods: direct via Zelle to Cynthia Mong at 954-270-8939 or contact the Purple Door at 772-807-1787.
Rick McBride is mixedblood Ani'yunwi'ya (Tsalagi, or Cherokee) who has actively walked the Red Road for 40 years. He was named Cante Lute (Schan-tay Lou-tuh) by the spirits through his sundance chief, which means Red Heart. He is a 20-year sundancer and has been traditionally trained and authorized to lead ceremonies, such as initi (purification lodge), prayer with the Canunpah (Pipe), drum healing and so forth. He has been publicly teaching these ways for some 20 years now.
