Native American-style Drum Building Workshop with Rick McBride

"I've been building hand drums for over 25 years and have helped many people create their own sacred. It is a process I believe in especially when the reason to build the drum is for ceremony. As I help you physically create your drum, I also talk about drum use, traditional drum circle etiquette, technique, styles and songs. I like to meet with participants after their drums are ready for play (allow a minimum 5 days) to wake them up to a spiritual life in a traditional drum circle."

Octagonal drum investment is $200 ($140 for materials deposit, $60 tuition + shop fee payable at class). Round drum investment is $230 ($170 for materials deposit, $60 tuition + shop fee payable at class)

Rick McBride is mixedblood Ani'yunwi'ya (Cherokee) who has actively walked the Red Road for over 40 years. He was named Cante Lute (Schan-tay Lou-tuh: Red Heart) by the Spirits through his sundance Intercessor. He is a 21-year sundancer, his " hocoka" is in South Dakota. The Ikce Wicasa Tiospaye (Ik-chee We-cha-sa Tee-oh-shpay, IWT) is a 501c3 non-profit organization. The IWT offers traditional initi (sweat lodge) ceremony and other teachings.
