What we’re about
Discussion group focused on the study of nature in general from a scientific perspective, including civilization as a whole, the nature of consciousness, and the nature of ideas. The aim is to integrate specialized knowledge from a variety of fields in order to cobble together a more systematic and interdisciplinary understanding of the universe around us and within us.
Although this group is not primarily dedicated to the task of refuting or debunking various non-scientific or pseudoscientific approaches to knowledge, examining and propagating modern methods of scientific research and knowledge acquisition are important areas within its scope, and therefore "alternative facts," unsupported premises and conclusions, and dogmatic religious or secular ideas which conflict with modern science are subject to criticism in a thoughtful and serious manner when they are encountered.
