When: July 11,[masked]:00 AM

Where:

Greetings to all from the rural countryside a short hour west of Rockford!

We are constructing a workshop building utilizing straw clay wall infill. This is a 1600 sq/ft building with 12? high walls. The wall framing, roof, etc are installed and we have a good start on the straw-clay wall infill.
We would like to invite those interested in learning and doing this natural building method to check out what we believe to be a good example of modern straw-clay building, using some mass-production equipment, specifically designed for straw-clay building. You are welcome to come-visit us, learn, and experience the different portions of straw-clay building by joining in an enjoyable construction project with us. This building will also be heated with a solar thermal panel-powered, high mass sand bed radiant heating system. Our small farm is located in a fairly pastoral rural area west of Rockford (about 2 hrs from Chicago). There is a good assortment of naturally raised animals on our farm, including organic, grass-fed, rotationally-grazed cattle, a Jersey milk cow, goats, and rabbits, that provide delicious and nutritious dairy and meat products, like living milk, butter, yoghurt, cheeses, etc. The garden is also thriving with vegetables grown from open-pollinated, heirloom seed. So, we offer good eats! We are resuming straw-clay production today (July 7th) and are estimating it will take about a week, working through the weekend (July 11th & 12th). Come any day/time. Call (815)[masked] or email [address removed] if you have questions.

Thanks, Jim
